With Aunjanue Ellis Courtney B. A 17-year old track star of Chicago’s South Side who becomes he goes to college on a scholarship Franklin Roberts (Vance) is an attorney in the city’s Cook County courthouse who has received a devastating diagnosis from his medical professionals regarding cancer that is life-threatening. When the police make a mistake in a drug investigation in Moses’ neighborhood, which leads to the murder of a police officer Moses discovers himself at the heart of the standoff. Franklin cannot resist another youth from the south stuck inside the court system.

The eight-episode show features Tosin Cole ( Doctor Who ) as Moses Johnson. Johnson is an African-American high school athlete located in Chicago who is detained after being suspected of belonging to a gang. The actor who plays Cole on the show is Emmy Winner Courtney B. Vance ( The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, Lovecraft Country ) as Franklin Roberts who acts as Johnson’s lawyer.
