In a press conference held by Volsiz, Knightley was asked what was her impression of what she learned about the nature of this investigation in light of the difficulties the women had to face throughout the investigation. McLaughlin and Cole demonstrated the significance of having female investigative journalists as they were the first to link the murders of a string to one serial killer. But, they continue to pursue the story even at great personal risk, and risk their lives to find out the truth.

This film follows Loretta McLaughlin who is a reporter for The Record American newspaper, who is trying to determine the connection between the horrific murders of women that have been committed at their homes for more than an entire year. The mysterious killer has claimed many victims. While the mysterious murderer claims even more victims Loretta attempts to investigate along with her friend and confidante Jean Cole, but they are hindered by the sexism prevalent in the day.
