The cast of A Machu Picchu Proposal

1- Rhiannon Fish as Katie

Australian-Canadian star Rhiannon Fish (born March 14, 1991) shines as Katie, a quick-witted translator determined to salvage her brother’s proposal. Best known for Home and Away (2010–2014) and The 100 (2016), Fish’s knack for blending humor and warmth makes her the perfect anchor for this rom-com. Fluent in Spanish (honed during her role in Days of Our Lives), she brings authenticity to Katie’s mission.

Off-screen, Fish advocates for environmental causes—a passion mirrored in the film’s Peruvian setting. Her chemistry with Alec Santos crackles as their characters clash, then kindle sparks. “Katie’s loyalty is her superpower,” Fish says. “Even when chaos reigns, she’s the glue holding everything together.”

2- Alec Santos as Carlos

Alec Santos (The Fosters, Good Trouble) charms as Carlos, Luciana’s well-meaning chef friend whose culinary enthusiasm derails Dan’s plans. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami, Santos infuses Carlos with Latin flair and irresistible charisma. His background in theater (In the Heights) fuels Carlos’ larger-than-life energy.

Santos trained with Peruvian chefs to master authentic dishes like lomo saltado for the role. “Carlos isn’t a villain—he’s a big-hearted guy with terrible timing,” he laughs. Off-camera, Santos supports food insecurity nonprofits, blending his passions for acting and advocacy.

3- Michelle Rosselló as Luciana

Peruvian-American actress Michelle Rosselló (Selena: The Series, Vida) radiates grace as Luciana, Dan’s unsuspecting girlfriend. Rosselló’s bilingual roots and deep connection to Peruvian culture (her family hails from Lima) enrich Luciana’s warmth and heritage. Her role required navigating emotional highs and lows as the proposal unravels.

Rosselló collaborated with local artisans to showcase Peru’s textiles in her wardrobe. “Luciana embodies modern Latina strength,” she notes. “She’s caught between tradition and her own dreams—a balance many viewers will recognize.”

4- Christopher Vieira as Dan

Christopher Vieira (Riverdale, The Flash) plays Dan, a lovestruck romantic determined to propose perfectly. Vieira’s Portuguese heritage and fluency in Spanish (learned for Queen of the South) add layers to Dan’s earnest quest for familial approval. His chemistry with Rosselló feels effortlessly genuine.

Vieira trekked Machu Picchu before filming to capture Dan’s awe. “This role celebrates grand gestures and the humility to pivot when plans fail,” he says. Off-screen, Vieira mentors young actors, echoing Dan’s protective love for his sister.

5- Lucia Caravedo as María

Lima-born Lucia Caravedo, a legend in Peruvian cinema (La Última Noche), brings gravitas as María, Luciana’s wise grandmother. Caravedo’s 50-year career and advocacy for Indigenous rights inform María’s poignant wisdom about love and tradition.

Caravedo ad-libbed lines in Quechua (Peru’s Indigenous language), adding cultural depth. “María knows true love withstands storms—even comedic ones,” she smiles.

6- Valentina Saba as Flores

Rising star Valentina Saba (De vuelta al barrio) delights as Flores, María’s spirited neighbor. Saba’s background in telenovelas fuels her comedic timing, especially in scenes where she “helps” Katie with misguided advice.

Saba’s playful energy provides levity: “Flores believes in magic—and meddling!”
