Eat, Pray, Lie (2025) Movie - Cast & Characters

After catching her husband in bed with another woman, Sophia (Chelsea Rose Cook) books a secluded yoga retreat to “find herself”—but instead finds every move watched, recorded, and weaponized in Eat, Pray, Lie, LMN’s chilling new psychological thriller. What begins as a serene escape—complete with sunrise meditations and ocean-view villas—slowly unravels into a paranoid nightmare when Sophia discovers hidden cameras in her bungalow. As her fellow guests (Kiarra Raine, Zane Haney) reveal suspicious behaviors and the resort’s too-perfect facade cracks, Sophia realizes this “wellness oasis” might be a hunting ground for predators.

Mixing the sun-drenched dread of The White Lotus with the gaslighting terror of The Invisible Man, Eat, Pray, Lie explores how vulnerability can be exploited. Is Sophia truly in danger, or is her trauma making her see threats where none exist? With two skeptical detectives (Jeunee Simon, Diane Sargent) dismissing her claims, Sophia must trust her instincts—before her “healing journey” becomes a fight for survival.

Eat, Pray, Lie cast guide

1. Chelsea Rose Cook as Sophia

Chelsea Rose Cook (The Rookie, Good Trouble) delivers a career-best performance as Sophia, a woman whose emotional fragility masks unexpected resilience. Cook masterfully portrays Sophia’s unraveling psyche—her initial relief at escaping her cheating husband curdling into sweaty-palmed paranoia as the retreat’s “self-care” rituals grow increasingly invasive. The actress trained in yoga and meditation to lend authenticity to Sophia’s practice, making her late-film transformation into a fighter all the more shocking.

Cook’s most chilling scene comes when she finds footage of herself sleeping on a staff member’s phone—her silent scream as she realizes every private moment was surveilled is horror at its most visceral.

2. Jake Foy as Will

Jake Foy (Shadowhunters, Slasher) plays Will, Sophia’s estranged husband whose infidelity sent her fleeing to the retreat. Foy brings smarmy charm to the role, making Will’s late-film reappearance—claiming he “just wants to talk”—deeply unsettling. Is he truly remorseful, or is he part of the resort’s dark scheme?

A confrontation in the retreat’s sauna, where Will gaslights Sophia about the cameras, showcases Foy’s ability to pivot from pleading to predatory in seconds.

3. Zane Haney as Jonathan

Zane Haney (Riverdale, The Imperfects) is the suspiciously attentive yoga instructor who takes a very personal interest in Sophia’s “healing.” Haney’s performance drips with performative zen, his calm voice and lingering touches masking something far darker.

His demonstration of “assisted stretching”—which Sophia later recognizes from surveillance footage—is the stuff of nightmare fuel.

4. Kiarra Raine as Hailey

Kiarra Raine (Nancy Drew, The Flash) steals scenes as Hailey, Sophia’s initially aloof roommate who might be the only person she can trust. Raine’s portrayal of Hailey’s guarded warmth makes their bond feel genuine, especially when she helps Sophia decode the retreat’s cryptic “wellness questionnaires” (which ask disturbingly personal questions).

Their midnight escape attempt through the resort’s lush grounds is a masterclass in tension, with Raine’s panicked whispers contrasting the serene surroundings.

5. Jeunee Simon & Diane Sargent as Detectives Foxx & Jenkins

Jeunee Simon (All American, The L Word: Generation Q) and Diane Sargent (The Rookie, Bosch) play the dismissive detectives who write off Sophia’s claims as “post-divorce hysteria.” Simon’s by-the-book Foxx clashes with Sargent’s world-weary Jenkins, their dynamic echoing True Detective’s infamous partnerships.

Their third-act reckoning—realizing too late that Sophia was right—adds delicious irony to the thriller’s climax.

6. Scout Tayui-Lepore as Melissa

Scout Tayui-Lepore (Yellowjackets, The Midnight Club) is eerily perfect as Melissa, the retreat’s Stepford-smiling front-desk attendant. Her robotic hospitality (“Have you truly surrendered to the process?”) hides something far more sinister, revealed in a shocking cold open that rewinds to show her planting cameras.

7. Fabian Arnold as Gabriel

Fabian Arnold (Virgin River, Firefly Lane) plays Gabriel, the retreat’s celebrity chef whose “farm-to-table” dinners might be laced with sedatives. Arnold’s charming menace peaks when he casually mentions knowing Sophia’s “favorite childhood meal”—something she never told anyone there.

8. Kia Dorsey & Alicia Karami as Jordyn Jean & Rebecca

Kia Dorsey (The Oval, Sistas) and Alicia Karami (The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital) round out the cast as two guests whose seemingly supportive friendship takes a dark turn. Are they victims, accomplices, or something worse?
