Breakdown (2025) - Cast & Characters

Miranda Sanguinetti (Tini Stoessel) – a brilliant forensic accountant with a hidden gambling addiction – becomes the prime suspect when her mob-linked client turns up dead with her fingerprints on the murder weapon. As Detective Javier Lara (Jorge López) tightens the noose, Miranda’s meticulously constructed life implodes: encrypted files expose her money laundering, security footage contradicts her alibi, and a mysterious blackmailer threatens her daughter. Every alibi she crafts only digs a deeper grave.

Director Daniel Burman (The Secret in Their Eyes) crafts a psychological chess match where truth is the first casualty. Flashbacks reveal Miranda’s Faustian bargain with the Lara crime dynasty, while present-day interrogations twist into mind games with Javier – a cop hiding his own ties to the victim. In a world where every ally has a price, Miranda’s fight for freedom becomes a desperate race to outmaneuver predators on both sides of the law.

Breakdown cast with photos

1. Tini Stoessel as Miranda Sanguinetti

Miranda’s genius isn’t in numbers – it’s in erasing trails. Stoessel portrays her unraveling through micro-tremors during police interviews and frantic code-cracking in safe houses. Her addiction’s tell? Flicking a hidden poker chip when stressed. The climax reveals her darkest sacrifice: framing an innocent to protect her child.

Stoessel (Argentine superstar) trained with forensic accountants and recovered gamblers. Her real fear of enclosed spaces intensified interrogation scenes.

2. Jorge López as Inspector Javier Lara

Javier’s “by-the-book” facade cracks as evidence points to his brother Rafael (Albi De Abreu). López simmers with moral conflict – especially when destroying a blood-stained ledger implicating his family. His pursuit of Miranda masks a vendetta: her audits exposed his corrupt partner’s suicide.

López (Money Heist) shadowed Madrid homicide detectives. His improvised line “You launder money, I launder truth” became the trailer hook.

3. Martín Barba as Leo Gutiérrez

Leo, Miranda’s ex-lover and a disgraced cop, offers help in exchange for the dead client’s ledger. Barba oozes venomous charm – gifting Miranda burner phones rigged with trackers. His betrayal peaks when he auctions her location to the highest bidder.

Barba’s (Club de Cuervos) background in boxing fuels a brutal dockside showdown where he fights Javier and mob enforcers.

4. Lucía Gómez-Robledo as Victoria Lara

Victoria, Javier’s wife and Miranda’s former friend, is the dynasty’s silent strategist. Gómez-Robledo crafts icy poise – serving tea while blackmailing Miranda with photos of her daughter. Her “perfect homemaker” mask slips when Miranda uncovers her embezzlement.

Gómez-Robledo (Café con aroma de mujer) based Victoria on real cartel wives. Her character’s greenhouse hides a drug-lab safe room.

5. Rafael Ferro as Martín Sanguinetti

Martín, Miranda’s ailing father, holds the key to her past. Ferro’s heartbreaking performance reveals his dementia-stricken testimony doomed her alibi. Flashbacks show his role in laundering Lara family funds – a sin Miranda inherited.

Ferro’s (The German Doctor) real-life therapy sessions informed Martín’s fragmented memories. His confession scene required 27 takes to perfect.

6. Albi De Abreu as Rafael Lara

Rafael, the family’s volatile heir, ordered the hit Miranda’s blamed for. De Abreu radiates entitled rage – snapping a reporter’s neck in cold open. His obsession with Miranda? She rejected his marriage proposal to protect his sister Sara.

De Abreu (Queen of the South) performed his own stunts, including a elevator-shaft fall filmed practically.

7. Karla Garrido as Sara Lara

Sara, Rafael’s “fragile” sister, manipulates Miranda from a psychiatric facility. Garrido’s porcelain-doll innocence shatters when she’s revealed as the blackmailer – hacking Miranda’s accounts while faking catatonia.

Garrido (La Reina del Sur) studied hacker documentaries to master Sara’s keyboard choreography.

8. Leónidas Urbina as Sixto

Sixto, the Lara’s fixer, cleans crime scenes with disturbing serenity. Urbina’s dead-eyed efficiency peaks when he dissolves a body in Miranda’s bathtub – then compliments her tile choice.

Urbina (Narcos) developed Sixto’s signature trait: humming boleros while disposing evidence.

9. Antonio de la Vega as Emiliano Lara

The family patriarch (de la Vega) pulls strings from prison. His whispered phone calls orchestrate the frame-job – testing Javier’s loyalty. His “kind grandfather” persona hides ruthless calculus.

De la Vega (El Marginal) drew from real Mexican drug lords. Emiliano’s chess games mirror his manipulation tactics.

10. Sebastian Silveti as Gerardo Lara

Gerardo, Emiliano’s exiled brother, returns to seize control. Silveti’s feral energy ignites a bloodbath when he slaughters Rafael’s crew – framing Miranda for the massacre.

Silveti’s (El Chapo) background in Muay Thai fueled Gerardo’s knife-fighting style.
