Wolf King Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Storyline & Updates

Drew Ferran’s (Ceallach Spellman) life changed forever when he discovered he was the last heir to the Lycanthrone, the ancient seat of power for a werewolf kingdom hidden within our world. Season 2 thrusts the reluctant young king into the heart of a brewing civil war. Forced to leave his human life behind, Drew must navigate the deadly politics of the royal court, where every smile hides a snarl and every ally could be a potential usurper. With his kingdom fractured and a shadowy threat hunting the last remnants of his bloodline, Drew must master the beast within to become the leader his people need, before his reign is ended before it truly begins.

This season expands the supernatural world exponentially, introducing new clans, ancient magic, and a deeper lore that challenges everything Drew thought he knew about his heritage. From the opulent, treacherous halls of the wolf court to the misty, monster-filled forests of its borders, Drew’s journey is one of brutal transformation. He must forge a new pack from old enemies, uncover the dark secrets of his family’s past, and decide what kind of king he will be: a peaceful ruler or a vengeful beast. The howl for war is echoing—will he answer it?

Wolf King Season 2 official cast

1. Ceallach Spellman as Drew Ferran

Drew is no longer the frightened boy discovering his powers; he is a young man burdened with a crown he never asked for. Spellman masterfully portrays Drew’s internal struggle, balancing his inherent human compassion with the fierce, primal instincts of the Wolf King. His journey this season is about accepting his destiny, learning to command respect through strength and wisdom, and protecting a kingdom that is still a foreign land to him.

Spellman’s physical transformation is matched by his emotional depth. He embodies the weight of leadership and the loneliness of being the last of his line, making his moments of vulnerability as powerful as his explosive transformations into the formidable alpha he is destined to become.

2. Paterson Joseph as Duke Bergan

Duke Bergan, the stern and powerful regent who managed the kingdom in the Lycanthrone’s absence, views Drew’s return as both a miracle and a major political disruption. Joseph brings a commanding, Shakespearean gravitas to the role, portraying a man whose loyalty to the crown is unwavering, but whose methods are ruthlessly pragmatic and often clash with Drew’s modern sensibilities.

Joseph is the series’ formidable anchor. Bergan is a complex figure of mentorship and opposition, a guardian of tradition who must decide whether to mold his new king or control him. His powerful presence defines the political intrigue of the wolf court, making him a thrilling wildcard.

3. Tom Rhys Harries as Prince Lucas

Prince Lucas is a charismatic and cunning rival claimant from a exiled branch of the royal family. Harries oozes a seductive, dangerous charm, presenting himself as a polished and experienced alternative to the “human-raised” Drew. He is a master manipulator, turning the court’s prejudices against Drew to serve his own ambitious goal of seizing the throne.

Harries creates a villain you love to hate. Lucas’s sophisticated menace makes him a far more dangerous threat than any mindless monster; his weapon is words and influence, and his scenes with Spellman are electric with political and personal tension.

4. Georgia Lock as Gretchen

Gretchen, a fierce and loyal member of the royal guard, becomes Drew’s most trusted protector and a potential romantic interest. Lock embodies a warrior’s spirit—skilled, disciplined, and fiercely dedicated. She is the bridge between Drew and the ancient ways of the werewolf warriors, teaching him to fight and to trust his instincts.

Lock brings heart and ferocity to the series. Her character’s journey involves her own fierce loyalty being tested between her duty to the crown and her growing personal feelings for Drew, creating a compelling and emotional subplot.

5. Kate Fleetwood as Duchess Rainier

Duchess Rainier is a sophisticated and deeply ambitious noblewoman with a vast network of spies and considerable influence. Fleetwood is chillingly brilliant, portraying Rainier’s villainy with a silken voice and a polite smile that hides a will of iron and a heart of ice. She is a key player in the political games against Drew, often pulling the strings from the shadows.

Fleetwood’s performance is a masterclass in subtle menace. Duchess Rainier doesn’t need to snarl to be terrifying; her power lies in her intelligence and her ruthless determination to advance her family’s status, no matter the cost to the kingdom.

6. Chris Lew Kum Hoi as Hector

Hector is Drew’s first and most loyal friend within the kingdom, a quick-witted and resourceful werewolf from the common ranks. Kum Hoi provides much-needed humor and heart, serving as Drew’s guide to the strange new world he’s inherited and reminding him of the people he’s fighting for.

Kum Hoi’s chemistry with Spellman is the emotional core of the season. Hector’s unwavering loyalty is constantly tested as the danger around Drew grows, forcing the clever sidekick to step up and become a hero in his own right.

7. Rob Rackstraw as Lord Vankaskan / Vanmorten

Rackstraw voices two of the series’ most grotesque and terrifying antagonists: Lord Vankaskan, a monstrous, ancient were-boar warlord, and Lord Vanmorten, a sinister, venomous were-rat schemer. These hybrid lords lead the monstrous factions seeking to exploit the kingdom’s weakness.

Rackstraw’s vocal performance is incredibly versatile and chilling. He creates distinct, horrifying voices for each character, making them memorable and loathsome villains who represent the monstrous physical and moral corruption threatening the realm.

8. Nina Barker-Francis as Whitley

Whitley is a powerful and enigmatic witch who lives on the borders of the werewolf kingdom, guarding ancient secrets and powerful magic. Barker-Francis brings a mysterious, ethereal energy to the role. Her alliance is crucial, as she holds knowledge about the prophecy surrounding Drew’s bloodline and the true nature of the threat they face.

Barker-Francis provides a connection to the wider supernatural world. Whitley is neither fully ally nor enemy, operating by her own inscrutable rules and forcing Drew to confront magical threats that cannot be defeated by tooth and claw alone.

9. Rasmus Hardiker as Earl Mikkel & Colin Ryan as Vincent

Earl Mikkel (Hardiker) is a boisterous and loyal werewolf lord from a northern clan, whose strength and simple honesty make him a valuable, if blunt, instrument. Vincent (Ryan) is a young, cynical werewolf scribe in the royal library who uncovers a devastating secret about the kingdom’s history.

Though supporting roles, these characters provide vital world-building. Mikkel represents the steadfast old guard, while Vincent’s discovery is the key to a major plot twist, showing that the history of the Lycanthrone is written in lies and blood.
