In constant danger to their own families and the people they love and their families, they raced against time to seek justice for those who were people who were victims of the military dictatorship. Argentina, 1985 will be part of the Official Competition for the 79th year of the Venice International Film Festival, one of the biggest film festivals around the globe. The film is based on the story that was told in the book of the prosecutors Julio Strassera and Luis Moreno Ocampo who dared probe and prosecute Argentina’s most bloody government in 1985.

The film debuted in Venice just days after the assault against Vice-President Cristina Kirchner in Argentina. The setting made clear that the film is now more relevant than ever before, according to critics. In the press conference for the film the director revealed that the attack was an awe-inspiring experience for all the film’s team. The award-winning producer Santiago Miter helms the feature which he co-wrote along with his long-time co-author Mariano Llinas.
