Double Scoop (2025) - Cast and Characters

When cutthroat New York ad execs Nora (Taylor Cole) and James (Ryan McPartlin) are pitted against each other to win the account of Darlington Dairy – a charming Vermont farm famous for legendary lavender-honey ice cream – their professional rivalry reignites with a vengeance. Nora plans to modernize the brand with flashy city appeal, while James bets on nostalgia-driven authenticity. But as they trade barbs in maple groves and battle over berry-patch photoshoots, the icy tension between them begins to thaw in the summer heat. With the farm’s future at stake and a corporate shark (Patrick Muldoon) circling to sabotage them both, these polar opposites discover that blending their strengths might just create the perfect recipe for love.

Director Terry Ingram (Aurora Teagarden) crafts a delicious enemies-to-lovers rom-com where storyboards and sprinkles collide. From disastrous focus groups with opinionated cows to a climactic “Ice Cream Olympics” judged by the town, Nora and James must choose between winning the account or winning each other’s hearts – because in this battle of wit and whipped cream, only one scoop can come out on top!

Double Scoop cast with photos

1. Taylor Cole as Nora Hartman

Nora’s sleek NYC polish cracks the moment she steps in cow dung chasing a runaway calf – but her strategic brilliance shines as she rebrands the dairy’s hay bales into Instagram gold. Cole balances razor-sharp wit with vulnerability, especially when Nora confesses her secret: she grew up in foster care, making the Darlingtons’ tight-knit family farm life her unexpected dream. Her defining moment? Sacrificing her campaign to expose James’ rival’s sabotage.

Cole (Rescuing Christmas) trained at a Vermont creamery to master ice cream churning techniques. Nora’s power blazers slowly give way to flannel shirts – mirroring her heart’s journey from steel to sweetness.

2. Ryan McPartlin as James Wilder

James’ “aw-shucks” charm hides a Harvard MBA and a wounded past: his family’s orchard was lost to corporate developers. McPartlin radiates warmth as he bonds with the Darlingtons over pre-dawn milking, but his fierceness erupts defending their legacy against Nora’s “metropolitan makeover.” His emotional climax comes when he gifts Nora his grandmother’s peach pie recipe – the same one he refused to share in their agency days.

McPartlin (Christmas in Rome) perfected his ice cream scooping technique with competitive “scoopers.” James’ transition from slick presentations to heartfelt barn speeches captures Hallmark’s “coming home” spirit.

3. Patrick Muldoon as Everett Kane

Everett, Nora’s ex and a rival agency owner, arrives to poach the account with underhanded tactics. Muldoon oozes smarmy charm – bribing food critics and planting fake health violations. His villainy peaks when he sabotages the dairy’s centennial festival ice cream machine.

Muldoon (Starship Troopers) based Everett on real ad-world rivals. His character’s downfall – slipping on spilled blueberry syrup during a confrontation – adds slapstick justice.

4. Elisa Donovan as Alexandra Sterling

Alexandra, James’ ambitious NYC partner, initially pushes him to crush Nora but softens after falling for the farm’s gentle farrier (Eli Brand). Donovan steals scenes with city-girl-gone-country chaos – fleeing angry geese in designer boots and accidentally dyeing her hair pink with beet juice.

Donovan (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) improvised Alexandra’s viral “Goat Yoga Gone Wrong” moment. Her arc from rival to ally helps unite Nora and James.

5. Chonda Pierce & Tim Abell as Ann Marie & Matthew Darlington

The Darlingtons’ folksy wisdom anchors the chaos. Pierce radiates maternal warmth – mediating Nora/James’ fights with ice cream sundaes and folksy proverbs (“Arguments melt faster than soft-serve on a hot day!”). Abell’s quiet strength shines as he teaches James the 100-year-old churning techniques corporate suits would destroy.

Pierce (comedian) ad-libbed Ann Marie’s prayer over a broken pasteurizer. Abell (JAG) learned authentic dairy farming – his scenes with the cows are unscripted moments.

6. Julie Haught as Violet Darlington

The Darlingtons’ whip-smart teen daughter becomes Nora’s secret weapon. Haught crafts Gen-Z savvy – launching TikTok trends that go viral (#IceCreamCowboy) and catching Everett’s sabotage on camera. Her crush on James’ nephew (Jakeem Hawkins) adds sweet teen romance.

Haught (Aurora Teagarden) shadowed teen influencers for Violet’s social media scenes. Her character’s “Lavender Honey” remix of a pop song plays over the credits.

7. Sofia Shakarian as Josie

Josie, the dairy’s sarcastic but big-hearted scooper, becomes Nora’s small-town confidante. Shakarian delivers laugh-out-loud zingers (“That guy’s ego needs its own freezer”) while secretly crushing on Matthew Darlington. Her “Scoop War” against Alexandra is comedic gold.

Shakarian (Chesapeake Shores) trained at a Ben & Jerry’s to perfect “flawless swirl” technique. Josie’s hidden talent: identifying flavors blindfolded.

8. Jacklyn Collier as Shannon

Shannon, Everett’s efficiency-obsessed assistant, battles a moral crisis. Collier’s comic timing shines as she fumbles small-town tasks (“How do you ‘milk time’? Is that an app?”). Her redemption comes when she leaks Everett’s plans to Nora via coded ice cream orders.

Collier (The Wedding Veil) based Shannon’s panic attacks on real corporate burnout. Her character’s binder of “Vermont Survival Tips” becomes a series highlight.

9. Eli Brand as Waylon

Waylon, the stoic farmhand with a poetry soul, bonds with Alexandra over injured horses and Wordsworth. Brand’s quiet charisma peaks when he recites sonnets while fixing fences – melting Alexandra’s city cynicism.

Brand (real-life farrier) performed all his horse scenes authentically. Waylon’s handwritten poems featured in the film were Brand’s own work.

10. J. Elliott as Tim

Tim, the town’s overly enthusiastic food critic, holds the dairy’s fate in his pen. Elliott crafts hilarious gravitas – describing vanilla bean as “a symphony of terroir” and getting brain-freeze mid-monologue. His 5-scoop rating system becomes a running gag.

Elliott (The Santa Summit) improvised Tim’s pretentious tasting notes. His character’s signature bowtie collection was Elliott’s personal contribution.

11. Jakeem Hawkins as Lavery

Lavery, James’ music-producer nephew visiting the farm, remixes barn sounds into beats. Hawkins brings Gen-Z energy – turning Violet’s folk songs into viral hits and DJing the climactic barn dance with cowbell solos.

Hawkins (Rap Sh!t) created Lavery’s electro-folk tracks. His bonding with Matthew over vinyl records adds generational heart.
