The show’s creators have decided to conclude the story by the end of the fifth season the show, astonishing fans by introducing a second Christmas-themed special.
The co-creator and lead Mathew Baynton explained the reason for this decision, and highlighted the difficulties posed by reality that the characters can’t change their appearance. As time goes by the gap in age between the characters and actors grows, making reunions in the near future impossible without the assistance in the form of CGI technology.
