Harlan Coben’s Shelter Season 1 Episode 2 Plot:
Harlan Coben’s Shelter is the tale of high-school senior Mickey Bolitar as he navigates his new life in the midst of a mother in rehab and a deceased father and a grumpy aunt and a brand new school in New Jersey with a camel as the school’s the school’s mascot.
When a spooky old lady who could be a ghost reassures Mickey that his father’s not dead, Mickey thinks he’s lost his mind over all of. Mickey discovers a source of stability within Ashley Kent, another new student who has experienced her own personal tragedy.
However, Ashley disappears, and while Mickey seeks her out after her disappearance, he discovers that what she said was a lie, and that he’s in serious danger unless he can get to the truth about what happened to her as well as his father. Mickey’s hunt leads him into an uncharted world of conspiracy, lies, and the darkest parts of humanity.

When a woman who might be or has been a spirit turns up to inform him that his father’s still alive, Mickey assumes he’s losing his mind. He instead is focused on interacting with the new student Ashley Kent.
