His hold on Kim Nolin is total, until the dynamic unexpectedly shifts.

Baron is terrifying by a hair’s breadth. He avoids the pitfalls of caricature to offer a complex and chilling portrait of a modern predator who uses love and weakness as weapons. His silent performance, in which every micro-expression betrays his game, is a true masterclass in acting. He is without a doubt the most memorable antagonist in the series.

3. Julie Trépanier as Kim Nolin / Attorney Kim Nollin

Julie Trépanier delivers a heartbreaking and powerful performance as Kim Nolin, a woman shattered by life and thirsty for love, whose encounter with Maxime Dubois awakens an unsuspected dark side. Her journey is a disturbing metamorphosis, from vulnerable prey to a woman capable of manipulations as complex as those of her tormentor. The central mystery of the season revolves around her character: is she a victim or an architect of chaos?

In a daring dual role, Trépanier also plays Attorney Kim Nollin (intentional spelling change), a mysterious lawyer whose connection to the case and to Kim Nolin will be revealed over the course of the episodes, adding an additional layer of suspense and narrative complexity.

Firm veteran André Lapointe remains the source of cynical wisdom and benevolent sarcasm that characterizes the series. Michel Laperrière once again steals the show with his scathing one-liners and his disillusioned take on the justice system. Faced with the disturbing complexity of the Dubois case, he is often the one who sums up the situation with brutal and comic clarity.

Laperrière provides comic and emotional stability. His character serves as an anchor for viewers, offering a moment of respite and laughter in an otherwise very dark and psychological season. His loyalty to his team, and especially to Macdonald, is put to the test.

6. Catherine De Sève as Detective Sergeant Anne-Sophie Morin

Detective Sergeant Morin is back, more determined and intuitive than ever. Catherine De Sève plays a police officer who refuses to see the case reduced to a simple case for ambitious lawyers. Convinced that a murkier truth lies behind the obvious manipulations, she conducts her investigation in parallel, becoming a thorn in the side of the defense team.

De Sève brings essential rigor and investigative tension. Her confrontations with Danielle Alain are high-level strategic jousts, where each advance of one is thwarted by the other, perfectly illustrating the tension between the search for truth and the imperatives of defense.
