Written by Pallaoro along with her fellow Pallaoro regular Orlando Tirado, we follow Monica when she returns to her home in the Midwest after 20 years for the very first time to take care of her mother who is ill. After two excellent films like Medeas as well as Hannah, Andrea Pallaoro debuts this year with her debut film in English with this Monica in which she is the only actress to have an international cast – even though her previous film starred Charlotte Rampling– and the next days will be in the Festival of Venice, opting for the most prestigious prize.
