in the follow-up “Moonflower Murders,” the parents of a girl who is missing come to Ryeland and tell him that the author Conway was at the wedding of the woman missing and overheard a secret and recorded it in the form of a novel (the parents discovered the information about that wedding within the book). The parents remain certain that events of the time are linked to their daughter’s disappearance and that somewhere in between the lines is clues to the culprit or at least Conway’s estate. Conway who has since passed away.
