When a brand new computer system known as Horizon is introduced across the nation, a series of mysterious financial losses begin to show up in the village Post Office tills.

When Subpostmasters Alan Bates, Jo Hamilton, Noel Thomas and Lee Castleton are in need of assistance with their problems, they are met with a stern response from the Post Office insisting that each of them is the only one with difficulties. Alan isn’t convinced.

When Alan discovers that the Post Office goes on to criticize, harass, as well as prosecute the subpostmasters over the inconsistencies, Alan leads the fight against the Post Office. Their lives, livelihoods, and good name were destroyed. His group of friends decide to clean their name.
