In this first film, Ben, a struggling filmmaker is a filmmaker who lives living in Berkeley, California with his partner, Miko, who works at an Asian American film festival. This obviously has significant psychological and practical implications on how young people are able to relate to the world.

The film is his adaption is a reworking of “Shortcomings,” Adrian Tomine’s graphic novel that follows three Asian-Americans in their teens who find themselves within Bay Area. Bay Area. Justin H. Min, Sherry Cola, Ally Maki are the main cast of Shortcomings (2023).

There are a lot of differences in the way people view life in those from the Eastern as well as Western worlds this difference is a major influence on the way children communicate with their parents.
