The story centers on the innocent victims of the crimes committed by Raoul Moat including Christopher Brown, Samantha Stobbart and a police officers David Rathband.

About 13 years ago, the news of a petty criminal incident in north England stunned the world. A week after the release of his prisoner bodybuilder Raoul Moat ambushed his ex-girlfriend and killed her, the new girlfriend, and an officer of the police.
The show starts an entire year after filming when the audience gathers and puts flowers in the air and say “We are here because Raoul Moat is a hero to us” Then, the show flashes back to the summer of the previous. Samantha is relaxing in the sun of Birtley, Gateshead, flirting with a charming Karate instructor Chris.
The two form a tentative connection They form a tentative bond, and Chris possesses the kind of openness and compassion that Samantha cannot believe is even possible on the planet.
