The story opens by introducing Amleth (Oscar Novak ), Alexander Skarsgard) as a young man on the brink of becoming an adult. But, his entire life is changed after his father, Fjolnir the Brotherless (Claes Bang) kills his father, Aurvandil (Ethan Hawke), and then kidnaps his mother the Queen Gudrun (Nicole Kidman).
