Szczecin the turn of spring and winter. Young girl appears to be floating under the thinning ice. Who was she, how did she die, and what did her family leave behind? The search for answers will create an intense, if initially unconsciously, drive to face her own circumstances being a single mom, performing the role of an ideal policewoman, and most importantly human beings in a time of emergency.

“The Thaw” is another original HBO Europe production made in Poland. Producer is Bogumil Lipski, supervising producers who were Izabela Lopuch, and Johnathan Young. Andrzej Besztak of Magnolia Films was responsible for the executive production. The production comprises six episodes. A majority of production was shot in Szczecin.
