The wreck is an entertaining, fast-paced coming-of-age tale that mixes smart humor and awe with questions about who we are. A suspenseful coming-of-age novel about a gay lost boy from Sheffield who is dragged into the dangerous waters of increasing fear and self-discovery. Jamie gets introduced to the cruising life and receives an education on the tribes within the crew such as mobs, theater children, and workers with low wages.

As he seeks advice on life on the ship from others on the ship, Jamie has to play detective to discover the truth about what happened to his sister. Also, he has to confront an evil duck that is terrorizing the ship, while others seem to be ignorant. But, it isn’t an easy one since he will have to penetrate the 1000-person team and maneuver between the tribes of the staff.

Hazing rituals, late-night parties, and all the alcohol they can find aren’t the most ideal conditions to conduct an undercover probe to avoid being a fraud. Be sure to watch how Jamie along with his newly-found companions team up to unravel the dark truth that runs as deep and wide as the ocean they’re trapped in.
