“A Love Song” concise yet tender and touching to the core, is among the films that are the most charming films in the Sundance Film Festival, which is being screened in a virtual format this year because of the pandemic. Much like its title “A Love Song” is simple and easy to understand. Dickey portrays Faye, a widow who is putting her trailer and truck in storage in Camp Number Seven on a Colorado mountain lake. She has dinner with freshly caught crayfish and a bottle of Busch. Every once in a while she switches the knob on her radio, and it sounds like something delicious. Faye who is still reeling from her loss of radio is trying to get to a lost frequency.

If there ever was a film that we refer to as”a “Sundance movie,” it’s A Love Song, an intimate, actor-driven micro-bit romance set in the western countryside of Colorado by first-time writer/director Max Walker-Silverman. The film premieres at the NEXT section of the Sundance Film Festival tonight. The real gift of Walker-Silverman lies in the stars in it, and not just the gorgeous images taken by cinematographer Alfonso Herrera Salcedo in the beautiful skies that adorn the crowded camp in which the film is set.
