The main idea is that Shoresy is on one of the teams that are the worst within the “Bypass League,” the name given to a four-team seniors’ league that is located in Sudbury, in the north of Ontario town of Sudbury. As the Bulldogs coach tries to assure his team that they played to be good and did a great job, Shoresy does his usual post-game dunk, and shouts that he’s spitting up while throwing up. “They give us five geese to commemorate that 20th game loss, and you call out ‘Good job team! ‘” We finally get to see his face after the booth is empty.

The story of his team’s struggle gets out to Sudbury where drinking, sports and fighting are a typical part of the town’s life. Shoresy is even dragged by youngsters in a game of youth league that he referees. There is also speculation of Nat (Tasya Teles) who is the manager of the team following his inheritance through his father has decided to leave.
