The Serpent Queen’ is set in the context of a historical drama with a contemporary slant. Through it, the tale of Catherine de Medicis’s ascendancy to the status of a queen will be revealed. The story unfolds in flashbacks in which Catherine defends her decisions and imparts lessons she’s learned to her trusted service, Rahima. This is how at 14 an orphaned and young Catherine gets married within the French court in the 16th century.

A simple and unassuming Immigrant, Catherine de Medicis got married during the sixteenth century together with King France. The orphaned teen was expected to inherit an enormous fortune from dowry payments and also to have many descendants to her. When she realizes her husband of her is in love with a more mature woman, the dowry she was promised is not paid and she’s incapable of conceiving. If she is relying on her determination and intelligence she can secure her wedding and take on this blood game that defined the monarchy unlike anyone other.
